What is a “Supernoob”?

A “supernoob” is a toon who has deliberately chosen to stay at a particular laff level and develop and maxx their gags instead of their laff points.

Low-laff, high-gag toons come in all shapes, sizes, colors, and laff levels. Here are some popular combinations you may see in Toontown:

• 15-25 laff toons: carry up to three gag tracks; can help players with elder toontasks.
• 26-40 laff toons: carry three to five gag tracks
• 40-50 laff toons: carry four to six gag tracks; can help players with the “help a player of 50 laff or less defeat the VP” task
• 51-65 laff toons carry five to six gag tracks

While toon-up and lure are unquestionably the most popular gag choices for low-laff, high gag toons, players have designed successful supernoobs and ubertoons using just about every possible gag combination.

What is the difference between a Supernoob and an “Uber Toon”?
The two terms are often used interchangeably to refer to a low laff, high gag toon. Some players make a distinction—a high gag player with 25 laff or less is a supernoob, while a high gag player with 26-50 laff or 26-65 laff is an uber toon. For other players, an “uber toon” is a special sort of toon specially designed to have six gag tracks at under 50 laff (a feat formerly made possible by a now-corrected glitch). Whatever you choose to call them, low- laff, high-gag toons are pretty special!

Why Bother To Build And Play A Low-Laff High-Gag Toon?
Most supernoobs and uber toons are developed and played by experienced players who are looking for a new way to enjoy Toontown. Supernoobs are fun to build, and extremely challenging and exciting to play. Working with lower laff toons provides a smaller margin for error, but also provides a highly thrilling experience which higher laff toons rarely feel.
Supernoobs also may enjoy the freedom to choose their own tasks and set their own goals, the pleasures of helping their friends with elder toon and other tasks, and the entertaining responses they receive from other players.

How long does it take to build a Supernoob?
Depends on how much time you have to devote to the project. Many supernoobs report that the fun is in the gag-building journey, rather than in the gags themselves.

Extremely dedicated players with lots of time to spare, excellent gag-building strategy, and good teamwork from their friends have built 25 laff toons with maxxed gags in less than a month. If you’re playing more casually and less systematically, it will take longer than that—possibly as long as 3-4 months.

What special challenges does a Supernoob encounter?

• Obviously fewer laff points can be a challenge, although not as much as you might think. Supernoob players quickly learn how to compensate for their small stature by making the best use of their gags, strategy, and friendships. They can survive far more and far worse than most people realize. Also, when sadualties do occur, supernoobs can regain their full laffmeter very quickly!
• Transportation is an ongoing challenge. Most 25 laff toons can only teleport to Toontown Central and back to the local playground! As a result, supernoobs are very appreciative when their friends offer them a lift to faraway playgrounds or Sellbot HQ.
• Supernoobs often run out of jellybeans. Their only sources of income are the trolley and the occasional beanfest. Fishing is too risky because of the possibility of earning unwanted laff point boosts, and Headquarters does not give out jellybean elder tasks to supernoobs. Now if supernoobs could only get a percentage on elder toon tasks….<g>
• Another challenge is running out of gags—supernoobs simply can’t carry as much stuff as higher laff toons. Be prepared for a few delays while they run to the gag shop or the jellybean bank.
• Nasty toons are unfortunately an occupational hazard of supernoobing. Some players behave very impolitely towards low laff toons, regardless of the quality of their gags. Some players have been treated so badly that they have given up playing their supernoobs! The good news is that there still are more nice players out there than nasty ones.

What can a Supernoob Realistically Accomplish in Toontown?
Just about anything. Supernoobs have successfully soloed buildings, danced at the tops of Toontown’s tallest and most challenging cog buildings, and participated in countless successful factory and VP runs.

Supernoobs and Uber Toons are limited only by their imagination and skills. They have achieved far more than you might think possible. So the next time you see a low-laff, high-gag toon standing by an elevator, why not hop in and see what happens next? You might be pleasantly surprised!
